Our Team


President, Sean Hoover

Sean is the founding member of For The Kids Foundation. With a child who has battled cancer and continues to be checked at the Oncology Clinic, Sean has personal, first-hand knowledge of what these kids and their families are going through. Sean made it his personal commitment to help these kids and provide activities, gifts and other items to help bring a smile to their faces.

Sean holds an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration (both from Edison State College)and a Master’s degree from the University of Central Florida’s Masters of Nonprofit Management program. Sean is currently employed with the State of Florida as a law enforcement officer in which he has over twenty years of experience. Through his experience Sean has developed and honed his skills in leadership and communications.

Sean has been the driving force behind organizing fundraisers for the foundation over the past several years.

Vice President, Jennifer Hoover

Jennifer is also a founding member of the foundation along with Sean. Jennifer too has experienced first hand the trials and tribulations of a child battling cancer. Jennifer is committed to providing as much as possible to the children at the hospital and supporting the Child Life Specialists. Jennifer holds an Associates degree in Criminal Justice from Edison Community College and a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Jennifer brings passion and dedication to the foundation and has been a dedicated part of the team.

Director, Roger Valdivia

Roger brings fresh new ideas and often thinks outside of the box. These ideas translate to smiles and joy for the pediatric patients. Roger has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Edison Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and a Master’s Degree in Arts of Administration from Barry University.

Roger steps up and takes on fundraising activities and helps with the execution of events.

Director, Beverly Black

Beverly joined the Foundation in 2013 and brings with her years of business ownership knowledge, leadership and outside of the box thinking. Beverly is very involved in the local community and brings with her strong commitment to help make the mission of the Foundation a priority.

Secretary, Douglas “Woody” Woodward

Woody Woodward is an active board member of the foundation striving to network with community partners to help bring diversity to the organization. Woody also has a drive to ensure that the foundation is a success and that the mission is always at the forefront of our activities.

Treasurer, Cynthia Woodward

Cynthia comes to the board with a very strong background in accounting and financial management. Currently Cynthia works for Sonic Automotive, a Fortune 500 company. Cynthia has well over20 years of accounting and financial management experience. Cynthia has a creative mind and a drive for helping the kids and making sure they smile as much as they can.
